Construction worker rushed to hospital after accident at Grand River Raceway

ELORA – A construction worker was rushed to hospital with serious injuries on Friday morning after an accident at the Grand River Raceway here.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Wellington Road 21 just after 8:40am on April 10.

“A 41-year-old individual was injured while working in a trench when the bank collapsed,” states a Wellington County OPP press release.

Centre Wellington deputy fire chief Jonathan Karn said the man was transported to a local hospital with “lower body injuries.”

Police later confirmed the man was airlifted to a trauma centre.

OPP officials and the Ministry of Labour are investigating.
