It may not be a typical ground breaking ceremony, but students from the Conestoga College Heavy Construction Equipment Operation program had plenty to celebrate when they began working on the grounds of the future Guelph Lake Nature Centre recently.

Approximately 40 students from the college will be working on the site until June 2, using a range of heavy equipment to help the Grand River Conservation Authority construct an access road, parking lot and school bus turning circle.
