Community generosity at its finest

On the weekend of April 10 to 13, members of the 242 Ross Ferguson Squadron Air Cadets were seen throughout Erin, Hillsburgh and Caledon Village meeting the community with smiles and handing out tags for donations.

Each spring the Erin Air Cadets participate in their Annual Tag Day Fundraiser and like every other year, our communities’ generousity is evident by amount of money donated.

This year the squadron hit a new record for donations and it is a combined result of this generousity and the support of our cadet families.

On behalf of the squadron staff, sponsoring committee and cadets we would like to thank everyone for their generousity.

Thank you as well to the merchants who allowed our cadets to tag in front of their stores.  Some of the money raised, will go towards the cadets’ Spring Field Training Exercises May 23 – 25th and towards their 11th Annual Review on June 14th at Centre 2000.

The above photo shows two of  local Air Cadets (LAC Kyle Coupland and Warrant Officer 2 Alex Buonafede)  outside of Marc’s Valumart in Erin with the Erin Brownies and Sparks on the sunny, Saturday afternoon. The Brownies & Sparks were selling Girl Guide cookies while the cadets tagged.  It was great seeing such great weather and support from the community.  The cookies were very popular and both groups benefitted from the generousity of the people in town.
