With autism continuing to rise, it is essential that those assisting individuals on the autistic spectrum have access to the latest research and treatments.
For that reason, the Autism Intervention Clinic of Guelph is organizing its third annual Autism Opportunities conference on Feb. 21.
The event is designed to help bridge gaps in the autism world. Speakers and exhibitors provide information and support for parents, educators, health professionals and adults with autism.
This year, presentations include:
– challenging the myths of autism;
– learning about sensory integration;
– assessing and treating the medical aspects of autism; and
– finding out what autism is really like – from the inside.
Guest speakers include: Jonathan Alderson, Elizabeth J. Bell, Heide Emrich, Sonya Doherty and Jackie McMillan.
The conference will be held at War Memorial Hall, University of Guelph campus from 9am to 4:30pm.
