Clifford women charged after traffic stop in Fergus

FERGUS – On Feb. 23 at about 11:45pm, Wellington County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on a red sedan on Queen Street East here.

Karen Lynn Wesley, 44, of Clifford, was charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent, driving while suspended and two counts of driving while prohibited.

Laura Emielenne Page, 58, of Clifford, was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance.

The vehicle was impounded for 45 days as per statute. Both women were to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
