The OPP recognizes community engagement is a key in crime prevention and strong community partnerships are an essential element of crime reduction.
The OPP offers programs to citizens and businesses, designed to foster relationships between the OPP and those it serves, to reduce and prevent crime.
“Our best defence against crime is achieved when everyone plays their part to prevent crime in the community,” said OPP commissioner Julian Fantino. “Community members who support the efforts of their police by engaging and mobilizing against crime, can and do make a significant difference in community safety across Ontario.”
