Three former councillors are now in the race for the Oct. 27 municipal election.

Former councillor Bob Mason put his name on the unofficial candidates’ list recently and will be facing off against incumbent first-time councillor Sherry Burke in Ward 2.

Other former councillors running to re-enter political life in the township are John Matusinec who is running against newcomer Steve McCabe in Ward 4, and Ross Chaulk who will run against incumbent councillor Mark Goetz in Ward 3.

Incumbent Dan Yake will square off against Shawn McLeod in Ward 1.

Mason’s entry into the race means there will be races in all four township wards.

First-term councillor Andy Lennox is running in the mayor’s race against incumbent Ray Tout.

County council

County councillors Gary Williamson, Ward 3, and Lynda White, Ward 4, remain unchallenged.
