The Ignatius Jesuit Centre launched its Sacred Ground capital campaign on Sept. 18 at Loyola House.

Officials say the Sacred Ground campaign has developed momentum over the past two years, and with deep appreciation to donors, the “renewal” they are seeking has begun within Loyola Retreat House and the Plant an Old-Growth Forest Project lands.

Centre officials say the capital campaign will bring the centre closer to reaching its goals:

- to ensure Loyola Retreat House continues “to serve all who seek to improve humanity’s condition through spirituality, contemplation, prayer and heroic action in the Jesuit tradition for another 50 years”; and

- to transform a tract of land into an old-growth forest, the Plant an Old-Growth Forest Project:  a 500-year reforestation project that is “a gift to the community.”

Loyola House is located on the grounds of Ignatius Jesuit Centre, 5420 Highway 6 North, Guelph. For more information call 519-824-1250 or visit  www.ignatiusguelph.ca.
