Catholic school board announces Marylin Dawson as new superintendent of student achievement

GUELPH – The Wellington Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) welcomes Marylin Dawson as the new superintendent of student achievement.  

 Dawson has over 20 years of experience as a teacher, principal and superintendent in Catholic education. 

Director Michael Glazier said, “Her system-level experience with Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board and Waterloo Catholic District School Board will be an asset as she provides leadership within our school board.”

Dawson began her career as an elementary school teacher, before moving on to be the Religion and Family Life Consultant for the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. 

She later served as an elementary school principal where she focused on improving student achievement and promoting inclusive education practices. 

Most recently Dawson served as superintendent of education with the Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board.

“I am excited to join the Wellington Catholic District School Board and contribute to its focus on excellence in student achievement, faith formation, and inclusive education,” Dawson states.   

Dawson will serve in her new role beginning Jan. 8.
