Cartooning workshop at St. John Catholic School
On Jan. 20 and 27, students from St. John Catholic School in Arthur were treated to hour-long cartooning workshops with art instructor and cartoonist Pablo Suarez, from Pablo's World of Cartoons of Guelph.
Students enjoyed the opportunity to draw and create cartoon characters and were surprised to learn all cartooning starts with just a few basic shapes. The final workshops took place on Feb. 3.
Project Haiti Fundraiser
On Jan. 22, students participated in a fundraiser for Project Haiti. For a minimum toonie donation, students received a bag of popcorn and had a movie afternoon in the gymnasium and the school library.
The response was overwhelming. The funds raised were matched by Catholic school council, increasing the total donation to $1,241.
