Careless, distracted driving charges following crash
GUELPH/ERAMOSA – A teen driver from Acton has been charged with distracted and dangerous driving after a vehicle sped through a stop sign and crashed into a forested area.
Wellington County OPP officials say police responded to the “T-intersection” of Jones Baseline and Eastview Road in Guelph/Eramosa on Aug. 2 at about 4am.
The vehicle was “found lodged into a nearby forested area” and chainsaws were needed to free it, police added.
“During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the driver [drove] while being distracted, rapidly entered into the intersection with no regard for other drivers or stop-signs,” police stated in a press release.
“No injuries were reported.”
