Car crash claims life of Arthur teen

An Arthur teen is dead following a serious car crash here on May 26.

Police say they were called to the scene of the accident on Wellington Road 16 at Line 2 in former West Luther Township at about 7:09am.

Wellington County OPP officers responded along with the Wellington North Fire Department and Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services.

Police say a 2003 Grand Prix was eastbound on Line 2 when it collided with a 2004 Honda Civic that was southbound on Wellington Road 16.

The driver and lone occupant of the Grand Prix, Austin Adams-Lundy, 19, of Arthur, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. 

The driver and lone occupant of the Honda, a 54-year-old male from Toronto, was transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to a Toronto hospital with serious injuries.

Wellington Road 16 was closed at Wellington Road 109 and Line 4, and Line 2 was closed at Sideroad 13 and at Wellington Road 14, while Wellington County OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and the Highway Safety Division TCI investigated the collision.
