Cannabis charge for Clifford man

PERTH COUNTY – A Clifford man is one of two recently charged by the OPP for improperly transporting cannabis.

On Aug. 10, Perth County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on Line 20 in West Perth. Police say an officer spoke to the male driver of a sedan and detected the odour of suspected burnt cannabis.

Mykal Bryan, 25, of Ajax, was charged with having care or control of vehicle with cannabis readily available.

The second RIDE program was operated on Line 87 in North Perth. Police say an officer spoke to the male driver of a sedan and detected the odour of suspected burnt cannabis.

Nathan Douglas, 40, of Clifford, was charged with having care or control of vehicle with cannabis readily available.

Police are reminding drivers that, much like alcohol, it is illegal to transport cannabis in a vehicle if it is open (“unfastened”) and not in its original packaging or not packed in baggage and is readily available to anyone in the vehicle.
