Randy Pettapiece is a trusted voice for Perth-Wellington. He represents our values and he understands rural and small-town Ontario.
Since he was elected, Randy has taken action on issues that matter to us:
– skyrocketing hydro rates;
– family doctor shortage;
– roads, bridges and local infrastructure;
– insurance reform;
– high cost of the College of Trades; and
– unwanted industrial wind turbines.
While at Queen’s Park, Randy served as official opposition critic for rural affairs and the horse racing industry. He is a determined advocate for all the people he represents.
In 2012, Randy successfully passed a resolution with all-party support to address the rural-urban divide. In 2014, he again received all-party support for his motion calling on the government to protect taxpayers and municipalities from higher municipal insurance costs.
Randy understands the importance of agriculture to Perth-Wellington and the province. He moved to the area in 1967, when his parents bought a dairy farm near Monkton. On the farm, he learned firsthand the values of hard work and service to community. Randy graduated from Ridgetown College of Agriculture and Technology.
Serving the community is second nature to Randy. He is a long-time volunteer with the Monkton Lions Club; he knows that volunteers are the lifeblood of every community.
Randy served as a councillor in the Municipality of North Perth. At Queen’s Park, he continued to advocate for every municipality he represents.
Together with his wife, Jane, Randy raised three sons at their home just outside of Monkton. Today they live in Listowel and are proud grandparents.
