Canada Post ‘not yet able to speak further’ about plans for Belwood residents

Residents using community mailboxes after fire destroyed post office in November

BELWOOD – Canada Post has come up with a temporary fix for Belwood residents after a fire in November destroyed the building that housed the post office.

Community mailboxes have been temporarily installed to allow customers to pick up their mail and they can also use the post office at 299 St. Andrew St. W. in Fergus.

“We are working to resume postal services in the community, however, we are not yet able to speak further about our plans. We will provide updates to Belwood residents as soon as they become available,” stated Canada Post spokesperson Valérie Chartrand in an email.

“We thank our customers for their ongoing patience and understanding during this time.

“We encourage them to contact our Canada Post Customer Service team if they have any questions about postal services, online at canadapost.ca/support or by telephone at 1-866-607-6301 (TTY: 1-800-267-2797).”
