Bunkie Life celebrates first anniversary of Rockwood factory

ROCKWOOD – Erin couple David and Karrie Fraser are celebrating a successful first year at their Bunkie Life factory in Rockwood.

In December 2021 the couple appeared on CBC’s Dragon’s Den, and since then their business has expanded to include more than 17 staff from the local area and a 14,000-square-foot factory,

Bunkie Life builds DIY (do it yourself) kits for families to assemble their own bunkies. The company ships kits to homes and cottages all over Canada – from Vancouver Island to Prince Edward Island.

“We started Bunkie Life in 2017 in response to our family’s problem: ‘where the heck will our visiting parents sleep?’ and turned it into a simple solution that provided space for meaningful connection for Canadians from coast to coast,” state the Frasers in a press release.

On Sept. 16 Bunkie Life will host a one-year anniversary open house at the Bunkie Life factory at 4917  7th Line, from 12 to 4:30pm.

Free barbecue

There will be a free barbecue, gifts and prizes and a chance to see the inner workings of one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies during guided tours.

“We’re really excited to have everything happening under one roof, high-quality and easy-to-build bunkies for Canadians made by Canadians,” the couple states.
