Bryan’s Auctions issues business-to-business challenge to donate to local charities

PUSLINCH – Ken Lillycrop is encouraging businesses that are able, to donate to local charities.

“I challenge other business to do what they can to help support local organizations. Every little bit helps during this unprecedented time,” he said in a press release.

Lillycrop is the owner of Bryan’s Auctions, with locations in Puslinch and Trenton.

It’s a full-service online auction specializing in new and used consigned goods. Auctions are held online each month – everything from heavy equipment and home renovation supplies to décor and general consumer goods.

As such, it was declared an essential service and has been able to operate during lockdowns and other pandemic restrictions.

“It hasn’t been too bad for us,” Morgan Sider, sales and marketing coordinator at Bryan’s, said in a phone interview. “But we know many people are struggling.”

Sider said Lillycrop is passionate about giving back to the community and has selected Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre in Puslinch, the Eva Rothwell Centre in Hamilton, and the Care and Share Food Bank in Trenton as the charities the auction is supporting.

“We need to come together and support one another during these challenging times,” Lillycrop stated in the release.

Sunrise Therapeutic has a mission to develop the full potential of children and adults with special needs and Bryan’s has sponsored a horse there, Zar, for the past three years.

“Sunrise does amazing work. It is amazing to see the children light up around these giant animals,” stated Lillycrop.

The Eva Rothwell Centre, located in the heart of Hamilton, partners with families to provide free essential services as well as educational and social recreational programs and services for underprivileged children and families in need of support.

The Care and Share Food Bank, located in Trenton, is an independent non-profit organization with a mission is to provide emergency food assistance to people who are experiencing food insecurity in the Quinte West area.

“People tend to donate at the holidays and then forget about the food banks, but they need donations all year,” Sider said.

“This is just a call out. If you can, consider reaching out to a charitable organization. They’ve been struggling through this pandemic.”

“Both communities benefit greatly from these organizations,” Lillycrop said. “We are happy that we can provide some additional much needed support.”

The organizations accept donations through their websites: sunrisetherapeutic.ca, evarothwell.ca and trentonfoodbank.ca. For more information about Bryan’s Auctions, visit  www.bryanauction.com or call 519-837-0710 in Puslinch.
