Baton club competes at regional event

Regional competition - Eleven members of the Superstars Baton Club competed in Bowmanville March 30-31 at the Canadian National Baton Twirling Association (CNBTA) Regional Championships.  Approximately 80 athletes gathered to compete. In the back row, from left: Lainey Saunders, Skylar Irwin, Makenzie Worton, Alyssa George and Shayla Logel. Kneeling: Jamie Green, Mackenzie Fraser, Paige Johnston, Chelsea McFadden and Jayda Saunders. Sitting: Amelia Green. The twirlers are trained by Krista DiStasi and Makenzie Worton of Fergus. The girls will be training hard for the CNBTA Provincial Championships at the beginning of May in Barrie.  Amelia Green (age 5) from Arthur was 1st in basic march, 2nd in solo and won the Primary Novice Miss Regional Pageant. Skylar Irwin (age 16) of Arthur was 1st in Beg 2baton. Shayla Logel (age 14) of Elora was 1st in basic march, 2nd in Int 2baton, 7th in Int Strut, 8th in Int Solo.    Submitted photo
