Barrie man charged with dangerous driving in fatal crash in January
ERIN - Police have now charged a Barrie man with dangerous driving in connection with a serious crash earlier this year that left a Caledon man dead.
On Jan. 5 at about 6:25pm emergency crews responded to a serious two-vehicle collision on Trafalgar Road near Sideroad 17 in Erin.
Police say a southbound SUV collided head-on with a northbound sedan.
The driver of the sedan, Jayson Alexander Waddell, 36, of Caledon, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV was transported to a Georgetown hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released.
On May 26, police announced that Ishaka Simran Parvini Maharaj, 19, of Barrie, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and is to appear in Guelph court on July 31.
