MOUNT FOREST – A fire on the morning of Jan. 25 has closed St. Mary Catholic School in Mount Forest. Nobody was injured in the fire that is estimated to have caused over $4 million in damage. Fire officials say the fire is not considered suspicious.

FERGUS - A low-pressure system crossing over from the U.S. late on the night of Jan. 12 caused winter storm warnings for much of southern Ontario. According to data from the Shand Dam weather station, 11 centimetres of snow fell overnight between Jan. 12 and 13 in Fergus.
