The Founder of Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, Ginty Jocius, passed away in 2008 of brain cancer.

The Jocius family has established the Ginty Jocius Brain Cancer Research Fund at the Canadian Cancer Society to raise critical funds for  brain cancer research.

Every dollar donated to the Ginty Jocius Brain Cancer Research Fund before Dec. 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Brain Canada through the Canadian Brain Research Fund, a public-private partnership established by the Government of Canada.

The family hopes to raise $125,000 to be leveraged to become a quarter of a million dollars to support the most impactful research on brain cancer today.

The group wants people to help attack brain cancer with a one-two punch.

Punch number one is a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society through the Ginty Jocius Brain Cancer Research Fund means a charitable donation tax receipt for the donor’s 2015 tax return; and

Punch number two is  through the Ginty Jocius Brain Cancer Research Fund, the donation will be matched by Brain Canada so that twice the amount of the donation will end up in Canadian medical research labs.
