The Oppose Belwood Wind Farm Association is gathering support for a turbine protest set for Feb. 24 in Toronto.
The local group is teaming up with anti-turbine activists across the region and is looking for people to register a seat on a bus planned to take participants to the rally. The rally will be held at Queen’s Park and is expected to begin at 11am.
Those interested in participating are asked to contact Janet Vallery at jvallery@everus.ca.
“We’ll arrange a seat on the bus for you. Please let us know as soon as possible,” Vallery said in a press release.
Municipal council reps at a multi-municipal wind turbine working group meeting in Chesley last week suggested there should be high interest in attending this protest in Toronto “due to the rush on jamming more turbines into our communities,” states Vallery in the release. “Many of them are working hard to fight this invasion and they need to know you support their effort. They recognize that this is as much, or more, a provincial issue as a local one.”
