Arrest made in Guelph murder

GUELPH – A Guelph male was arrested Monday evening in relation to a homicide investigation at a housing complex in Guelph’s east end.

On Feb. 21, shortly after 8pm, the Guelph Police Service responded to a 911 call for a 59-year-old male in medical distress at an address in the area of York Road and Watson Parkway North. 

Police, paramedics and fire tended to the male and transported him to the hospital, however he succumbed to his injuries.

A 40-year-old Guelph male was arrested and charged with second-degree murder as a result of the investigation. The males were known to each other. The accused appeared in Guelph court Feb. 22.

The deceased’s family was notified and Guelph Police can confirm that there is no danger to the public.
