ARC Industries kicks off capital campaign

Close to $5,000 was raised at the first Annual Show and Shine at Boothill Automotive Resurrection in support of the ARC (Adult Rehabilitation Centre) Industries East Wellington’s Capital Campaign kick-off on June 25.

On display were dozens of classic cars, including the “Batmobile,” restored roadsters from the 1930s, 40s and 50s, as well a huge selection of muscle cars from the 60s and 70s, many of which had been customized or restored at Boothill.

Three area bands played for the audience and the Erin Optimist Club teamed up with the Erin Rotary Club to host a charity barbecue.

NHL hall of famer Paul Coffey and past CFL star Mike “Pinball” Clemons were on hand to meet and greet people.

Along with the announced $250,000 already received in commitments to the project, the team is well on it’s way to raising the needed $1.1-million.

Project partners to date include Don Robinson of Eastmain Resources, Boothill Automotive, the Rotary Club of Erin, the Optimist Club of Erin and Hilton Motor Sports.
