Annual food drive

FERGUS – Each year, there are people in Wellington County who struggle to put food on the table and to provide a cheer for their families during the Christmas season.

The county OPP is organizing a couple of donation drives to help out those in need. The first one is the Stuff a Cruiser Food Drive. It is be this weekend at the Zehr’s Market at 800 Tower Street South in Fergus.

A police cruiser will be parked outside the store and we are hoping to stuff it full of non-perishable food items. The times are Dec. 9 from 4 to 6pm; Dec. 10 from 8am to 6pm; and Dec. 11 from 9am to 6pm.

The OPP will also accept non-perishable food, toys and cash donations at each operational centre in the county up until Dec. 15. Donations will be distributed to local organizations throughout the county.
