Additional land to be leased for health unit

Wellington County Council has given its support to a Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Health Unit plan to lease addtional land from the University of Guelph.

The unit is looking at leasing a .78 acre of land from the university at an annual cost of $28,700.

The  land could be used for potential future expansion of up to 35,000 square feet while still meeting the parking requirements associated with the increased building size and maintaining the 40 percent green space requirement.

The proposal was presented to council at its June 28 meeting by medical officer of health Dr. Nicola Mercer and Amanda Rayburn of the health unit.
