BIRKHOLZ, Brenda Joyce (nee Simpson). Passed away peacefully at her residence in Grand Valley, on Monday, April 13, 2015 in her 69th year. By her side, her beloved husband Brian. Survived by sister Valerie (Donald Cryderman), Cayuga, Ontario, and brothers Ken (Erika), Wainfleet, Ontario, and David (Judy), Thunder Bay, Ontario. Also survived by mother-in-law Ilse, Grand Valley, Ontario; sister-in-law Renate (Ron Schuetz), Owen Sound, Ontario; sister-in-law Betty Ann (Rob Holman), Grand Valley, Ontario, and brother-in-law Jim (Bernadette), Southgate, Ontario. Known as Auntie “B” by many and Aunt Brenda to others, she will be missed and loved by her many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Survived by aunts, uncles and cousins. Also remembering Brenda are her best friends Linda Simpson, Diane Hancock, Marlene Hoover, Joyce Watt and Michelle Leis. Predeceased by her mother Ethel (2000), her father Hugh (2013), her father-in-law Herbert (2013) and Jessie Legros (2013) who was a very special lady in her life from the time she was very young. Also predeceased by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Brenda loved to crochet afghans and there are many recipients out there being kept warm wrapped up in one of them now. She loved music of any kind. She is also going to be missed by her many little feline friends. Brenda’s love for cats went as far back as her childhood. She would feed all the strays that would come down from the horse barns at supper time when her and her family lived in Burwash, Ontario, a prison farm up around Sudbury, Ontario. A CAT LADY she was; A TRUE FRIEND she was. Please join us for a celebration of Brenda’s life on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 281 George St., Arthur, Ontario.
