MINTO – The Minto Chamber of Commerce is officially calling for nominations for the 2026 Business Recognition Awards.
Officials say this annual event celebrates the hard work, innovation and community spirit of local businesses and organizations that make Minto a vibrant place to live and work.
The chamber is calling on all residents to help honor the local “stars” of the local business community.
Nominations are being accepted across six distinct categories with the aim of ensuring that every type of contribution, from the smallest startup to the most established non-profit, has a chance to be recognized.
New categories for 2026
The chamber has introduced two new categories to recognize individual and professional excellence: the Above and Beyond Award and the Customer Excellence Award.
The Above and Beyond Award is designed for individuals or groups who act as pillars of service, demonstrating extraordinary and selfless dedication to uplifting the community.
The Customer Excellence Award will recognize those who consistently deliver exceptional service and create lasting, positive experiences for their clients.
“While the awards celebrate the diverse commercial talent in our region, this year the chamber is placing a special emphasis on the heart of our community: our service clubs and non-profit organizations,” officials state.
Celebrating community builders
The chamber is looking to the community to nominate service clubs and non-profit organizations that have demonstrated outstanding leadership and innovation for the Not-for-Profit Excellence award.
“Whether it’s a group that maintained our local parks, organized a vital food drive or provided essential community programming, we want to hear their stories of impact,” officials state. Nominate a service club of your choice for the Not-for-Profit Excellence category.
“Minto is defined by its spirit of service,” said Minto Chamber of Commerce business development coordinator Raisa Abrahim.
“Our service clubs are often the first to step up when there is a need, and we want to ensure their dedication to improving our community doesn’t go unnoticed,” Abrahim added.
“We are asking the public to help us celebrate these local heroes.”
The other award categories for 2026 are:
– Business Community Involvement Award (for philanthropy and volunteerism);
– New Business of the Year (for businesses three years old or newer); and
– Business of the Year (benchmark for success and workplace culture);
“Let’s make sure those who give so much to Minto receive the recognition they deserve,” officials encourage.
