AGNEW, Beverley Wayne “Bev”

Of Mount Forest, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday January 8, 2026 at the age of 77. Loving “step-father” to Shiela (Wayne) McLean, Charlene (Grant) Stewart, and Ed (Gloria) Wilson. Grandpa to Tim McLean (Kristina), Christina Lancaster (Kegan), Cody Stewart, Justin Stewart, Tyler Stewart (Alex), Josh Wilson, and Jake Wilson (Maddie). Great-Grampa to Owen, Alexis, Merrick, Ezra, Adelaide, Chloe, Tyson, and Oliver. Bev is survived by his sister Doris Jarvis, brother Donald Agnew, and sister-in-law Helen Agnew. A Special “Uncle Pete” to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Patricia Agnew (2019), infant granddaughter Angela McLean, siblings Lois, Milton, Clayton, Betty, Audrey, Doreen, Ross, Wallace, Shirley, and Islay. Bev was known for his athletic skills on the ice – playing broomball with the Conn Men and Hopeville, and refereeing for many years in Mount Forest and Dundalk. He enjoyed playing baseball for Hopeville, hunting, fishing and many golf trips to the sunny south. Bev was a familiar face around MapleFest for many years, helping with the WWI Biscuit Hut. He loved a good road trip, long or short, to tour around and see the countryside or the always necessary trip to Costco – just because. After he started to experience some health issues, he still enjoyed a nice sunny day for a drive. Even if it was just to Tim Horton’s to get coffee or to go to Giant Tiger in Shelburne, his favourite store next to Costco. Bev also liked to “stir the pot” and get everyone going with a comment or two, but always with a twinkle in his eye. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bev’s life will be held in the spring. Details are being finalized and will be announced through the funeral home website. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Woodland Springs Women’s Institute or a charity of your choice. Online condolences and donations may be made at www.englandfuneralhome.com.
