passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the age of 60. Chris was born in Worcester, England and moved to Canada with his family at the age of two. In the 1970s, they settled in Puslinch, Ontario, a place Chris grew to love and never left, spending the remainder of his life living and working there. Chris found joy in life’s simple pleasures, listening to Neil Young, reading stories about World War II, puttering in his shed, watching birds at the feeder, and fishing in rivers and lakes as often as he possibly could. When there was leftover turkey after a holiday meal, Chris would happily turn it into soup for sharing. His friends and family brought him the most joy and Chris was always there to help out the people he loved with a joke and a smile. His friends will especially miss Friday nights spent laughing together on the porch. Chris is survived by his mother, Wendy Margaret McBratney; his father, Tom Graham Gush; his brother, Nicholas William Gush; his niece, Jordan Reese Gush, and extended family in the United Kingdom… we’ll miss you terribly. A celebration of Chris’ life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris’ memory to the Fatal Light Awareness Program. A tree will be planted in memory of Christopher M. Gush in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
