SHERRATT, James Leslie

July 19, 1939 - December 28, 2025

Jim passed away peacefully at Nithview Longterm Care on December 28, 2025, at 86 years of age. We are comforted to know his wife Anna Gloria (2024), son Dennis (1996) and daughter Denise (2019), granddaughter Cassandra (2008) greeted him in heaven along with his parents Grace and Les Sherratt, brother Bill and sisters Joy and Janice. Left on earth to grieve his passing, his son Leslie (Margaret), grandchildren Brenden (Laura), Cora (Amy), Aaron (Amy), Mitchell Sherratt-Greene (Rikki Rene), Nicole Schultze (Michael), Amanda Eve (Ryan) and Jordan Nagle. Great grandchildren Orion, Aurora, Laine, Lexi, Liam, Brantley, Parker, and Hayven. His sisters Darlene Crow, Lee Petitt, Linda Cyr (Colin), brother David Sherratt (Leslie) and many nieces and nephews. Jim worked hard as a sheet metal worker for heating and air conditioning. He finished his working years at CBC studios in Toronto. He had an ability to fix almost anything. His true love was his hobby farm in Hillsburgh, where he enjoyed raising horses and watching his dogs (all named Cookie), run the fields. He loved hosting extended family gatherings “at the farm”. He later enjoyed his years living in Pike Lake where perfecting his golf swing became priority. Jim was a faithful member of Hillsburgh Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and later worshipped at 1st Baptist Mount Forest. Midlife, he was an active member of the Lions Club. He coached his children’s hockey teams, baseball teams and boy’s brigade while living in Brampton/Bramalea. Visitation will take place at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Sunday January 4, 2025 at 2:00pm. Service is being held at the funeral home at 3:00pm, with reception to follow. Thank you to Nithview Community for providing Jim with a dignified final chapter in his life story as he battled dementia.
