Wellington County Library wants everyone in our community to enjoy our books, programs and services.
We work hard to make our spaces welcoming and easy for all people to use. Our branches include accessible entrances, washrooms and service desks, and our public computers offer tools like ZoomText to make text larger and clearer. Sensory kits with tactile items are also available in-branch for anyone who may need extra support during their visit. And if you ever need assistance, our staff are always happy to help.
We offer many types of reading materials to support different needs. Large print books feature bigger text and audiobooks are available on CDs, Playaways, Wonderbooks and Yotos, as well as digitally through the Libby app. Our eBooks also let you adjust font size, contrast and brightness to suit your preferences.
For people with print disabilities, we lend DAISY readers and more than 300 DAISY audiobook titles. Through our partnership with the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA), we’re excited to also offer the Envoy Connects, a small, portable audiobook player pre-loaded with five DAISY titles that are updated regularly. These devices are designed for people with vision or print disabilities and can be requested online or by speaking with staff.
Anyone with a print disability and an active library card can register for CELA, which provides access to books, magazines and newspapers in audio, e-text and braille formats. Library staff are happy to help you get started and explore everything CELA has to offer.
