Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we share the peaceful passing of David Watson, in his 84th year on December 6, 2025. Dave was a loving husband to Nancy for 58 years and devoted father to Brian and Andrea Watson, Lisa and Jason Jacobs, and Sara Watson. He was the proud grandpa to Jordan Watson and Parker and Cody Jacobs, and big brother to Linda and Elaine Watson. Predeceased by parents Delore and Nancy Watson, in-laws Samuel Bowman and Doris Bowman, and brother-in-law Robert Bowman. Born on October 14, 1942, Dave was a man who poured his heart into everything he did, whether it was his work, his home, his friends or his family, which meant the world to him. Dave and Nancy began their life together farming on the family farm. Dave also worked for 32 years at Pilkington/Centre Wellington Township where he retired and was able to spend more time doing the things he loved. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and walking around the home farm, appreciating all forms of nature. Dave spent many hours in his shop working on a broad range of projects. He had a natural gift for working with his hands and could repair anything – family and friends often joked, if Dave couldn’t fix it, nobody could. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff that provided compassionate care and kindness to Dave in his final days. A visitation will be held on December 22 from 1-2:30pm at Hope Springs United Church, 75 Geddes St. Elora. There will be a service celebrating Dave’s life at 2:30pm with a reception immediately after. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Wellington would be greatly appreciated by the family.
