PERRETT, Mary Elizabeth

September 1, 1961 - November 29, 2025

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29th, 2025 in the company of her husband at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. Mary is survived and fondly remembered by her brother Allan Wallace (Janice), brother Ken Wallace (Marilyn), sister Helen Potter (Brad), brother Philip Wallace (Janet). She is also remembered with affection by her extended family, friends, and colleagues whose lives have been enriched by her kindness, humour, and generosity. Mary was born in Fergus, Ontario on September 1st, 1961 to George and Viola Wallace (deceased). Mary earned a bachelor of arts degree in music at the University of Guelph. She obtained a bachelor of education diploma at Nipisssing University, and while on a student teaching assignment at Elora Senior Public School, she met her future husband, Neil Perrett. They would spend almost every day of their forty year marriage with each other at their Conn farm and their Fergus, Elora, Belwood, and Guelph homes. Fond memories were also forged at the family cottage on Parry Sound. Mary will be remembered by her students and colleagues, not only as a teacher, but as the director of Lower School at St. John’s-Kilmarnock School. She will be remembered in her role as consultant and mentor to many schools across North America as they pursued accreditation in the International Baccalaureate program. Finally, she will also be remembered as the first Queen of the Fergus Fall Fair. Most importantly, Mary will lovingly be remembered by her husband, Neil Perrett, and daughter, Glynis Perrett (Dustin Tesselaar), and son Braden Perrett. The love and care Mary had for her grandchildren, Jameson, Findlay, and Lyra, can not go without mention and will also drive long term memories. Mary’s life was filled with a deep love of her family, strong friendships, and a spirit of resilience that guided her through every stage of her journey. She brought comfort, joy, and support for all who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed. Visitation will be held at Graham Giddy Funeral Home on December 6th, 2025 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm and 6:00pm – 9:00pm. All are invited to gather, share memories, and honour the legacy she leaves behind. A private service for family members will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. John’s Church in Elora, an institution that was meaningful to Mary. Mary will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Arrangements are entrusted with the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home.
