Born May 6, 1933 on his parents farm in Proton Station, Ontario and passed away peacefully at his home in Moorefield on Wednesday, October, 29, 2025 in his 93rd year. Loving father of Guy St. John and Iryna of Bancroft, Kim Lacarte of Saskatchewan, Bill St. John and April of Bolton, Jessica St. John of British Columbia and Brandon St. John of Kitchener. Cherished grandfather of Thea Lacarte, Trisha Lacarte, Jesse St. John, Precious St. John, Fiona St. John, Sean St. John, Collin St. John, Tyler Wright and Vadym Zhemylo. Dear great grandfather of Kai and Milla. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends. Russell spent the majority of his life training race horses and raising his family in Northern and Southwestern Ontario. His love for all things country will live on through his family. There is a star named after Russell, so give him a wave next time you are stargazing. To honour Russell’s wishes cremation has taken place.
