TOWNSEND, Dorothy “Tammy”

December 20, 1971 - October 18, 2025

In Loving Memory of Dorothy “Tammy” Tamara Townsend.  It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Tammy surrounded with love and family. Loving partner and best friend of Darrick Robinson, cherished mom of Joey and Ty Robinson. Forever missed and loved by her parents Dave and Margaret, and her siblings Sherry (Paul Hill), Kathy (Mark Reis) and David (Christina). Left in the hearts of her nieces and nephews Cody (Alexandria), Natasha Hopkins (Mat), Andrew, Larissa and Trevor Hill; her great niece Scarlett Townsend and great nephew Mason Townsend, which whom she had a special bond. Lovingly remembered by her aunts and uncles Joan McAlpine (Don – deceased), Carol Austin (Glen – deceased), Jim & Nancy, Tim & Jan, Calvin & Philomena Hume, Lisa & Rick Ripley and all her cousins. Predeceased by her grandparents Al and Marjorie Hume, and Norm (Dorothy & Gertie) Townsend. Tammy faced her cancer diagnosis head on, with grace and determination. She became a moderator for the Ovarian Cancer Forum helping and
answering questions. She was a very successful RMT in Guelph for 29 years, and during that time met and kept many patients as friends, which was beautifully demonstrated when she created Team Diva’s for Walk for Hospice Wellington. In 2023 and 2024 her team was the top fund raiser. In 2025, she was the 2nd in raising over $10,000, all through donations from family and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent palliative care she received from Dr. Shafir and team, and nurse Colleen, and to her beloved friends Carolyn, Amy, Bonnie, Carol, Ryan, Rachel and Christine as well as everyone who kept in contact and helped wherever they could. It brought her immense joy to go for a coffee and a scone, or lunch, or ice cream or just hanging out. A special thank you to Ken – your flowers always brought a warm smile. A huge thank you to Hospice Wellington. Your care and compassion were outstanding. Thank you, Garth, Catherine, Deb and all the staff. Resting peacefully at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Hospice Wellington.
