Guelph/Eramosa hosting Remembrance Day service

ROCKWOOD – Guelph/Eramosa is hosting a day of remembrance to honour the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, the country.

This year, the township will hold one unified Remembrance Day Service with participation of students from Rockwood Centennial Public School.

The service will take place at the Rockwood cenotaph, at Main St. South and Guelph Street, at 10:55am on Nov. 11.

Participants wishing to join the parade are asked to assemble between 10:30 and 10:40am at the Rockwood post office on Guelph Street.

Following the service, attendees are invited to gather for refreshments at St. John’s Anglican Church Hall, hosted by the Rockwood Fire Department.

Temporary road closures will be in effect, including a portion of Highway 7, authorized by the Ministry of Transportation and County of Wellington.

“We invite the entire community to join us as we remember and honour those who risked and sacrificed their lives for the freedoms we cherish today,” states a township press release.
