BEATON, Lillian “Joy”

Passed away, peacefully, at Hospice Wellington on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 90 years. Beloved wife of the late George Beaton (2013). Loving mother of Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Guelph and David (Michelle) of Fergus. Cherished grandmother of Connor, Derek, Charlotte and Myles. Survived by her relatives and friends. Fondly remembered by her nephew Tom (Stuart) and many dear friends and family. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Lillian (nee Billing) Carter and sister Winnifred Leather. Joy was a Secretary for Excelsior Life Insurance Company and Family & Children’s Services where she also took several years in between her time there to be a stay-at-home mom for Jeffrey and David. She was a longtime member of St. George’s Anglican Church in Guelph. In retirement Joy spent her time documenting her family history’s and scrapbooking her family years. The Beaton family received relatives and friends at the Brombal Funeral Home, 1 Delhi Street, Guelph on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10:00am until the funeral service in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:00am. Reception followed. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In memory of Joy, donations to St. George’s Anglican Church or Hospice Wellington would be appreciated.
