WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Grand River Mustangs U11 A team captured the championship at the Niagara Rapids Fall Classic tournament, held Sept. 19 to 21. After posting a strong 3-1 record in round-robin play, the Mustangs edged Kitchener in overtime before facing rival Orangeville in the final – a team that had defeated them twice during pre-season. This time, the Mustangs came out determined and earned a 5-3 victory to claim the tournament title. “The girls came out flying and everyone worked together as a team,” said coach Scott Tregunna.
