HARRISTON – An evening of sketch comedy and music is in store for audiences of the Grey Wellington Theatre Guild’s next production.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural show, the guild’s second production of Not Your Typical Variety Show, featuring a fresh batch of comedic material, is set to hit the stage for two performances at the Harriston Town Hall Theatre on Oct. 17 and 18. Both shows begin at 7:30pm.
Creator Bob Harron, a long-time guild member, says the show is styled along the lines of old-time television variety shows and provides the audience with “another way to experience live theatre.”
Harron added the humour is “sometimes off the wall” and that the show is aimed at adult audiences.
Sketches will be interspersed with local talent acts in a show billed as “an evening of music and accidental comedy.”
The production includes a large cast of actors and music makers from throughout and beyond the Grey-Wellington area, including Harriston, Listowel, Mount Forest and Walkerton.
While enjoying the laughs, attendees can support a good cause as, while there is no admission charge, cash or food donations to food banks in the town of Minto will be accepted. For more information visit greywellingtontheatre.com.
