Obituary

John passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, at the age of 77. John is survived by his wife, Janet, of 55 years; his dear father to Dan (Ara), and loving brother Len (Brenda), sister-in-law Marj Martin, Joan (Brian) Aiken and Gail Roberson. John will be missed by his beloved and cherished grandchildren, Ethan and Mikayla, and step-grandchildren, Eric and Jayda. He will be dearly missed by nieces and nephews Lisa, Michelle, Nancy, Carol, Erin, and Jason; special aunt, Audrey Reid; and many cousins and friends. John was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Marie; his brothers-in-law, Gord Martin and Stewart Robertson; and his niece, Deann Aiken. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Elora Legion Branch 229, 110 Metcalfe Street in Elora, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00pm. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Aboyne Rural Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society.
