School board trustee granted leave of absence

GUELPH – A leave of absence for up to six weeks has been approved for Upper Grand District School Board trustee Robin Ross, to give her time to recover from illness.

The board approved the absence during its meeting on Sept. 23.

During Ross’ absence, board chair Ralf Mesenbrink and vice chair Alethia O’Hara-Stephenson will communicate with parents and other constituents on her behalf.

Ross is the trustee for Wellington North, Minto and Mapleton and the school liaison for Alma, Arthur, Drayton Heights, Kenilworth, Maryborough, Minto-Clifford, Palmerston,  Victoria Cross and Centre Peel Public Schools and Norwell District and Wellington Heights  Secondary Schools.

She was also sitting on ad hoc committees for honouring the late Martha Rogers and for the trustee vacancy that opened after former trustee Katherine Hauser became a Guelph city councillor.

Trustee Jen Edwards was appointed to fill Ross’s spot on the trustee vacancy committee, and trustee Irene Hanenberg for the Martha Rogers committee.

Ross will continue to receive board and committee materials.
