BEVAN-STEWART, Alistair John

January 26, 1941 - October 1, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Alistair John Bevan-Stewart announces his peaceful passing at home on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the age of 84. Beloved father to Jane, Clare, and Laura, and devoted Grandad to Owen, Alistair’s family was truly the centre of his world. He was a cherished brother to Peter (Sara) and Mary (Colin), and is predeceased by his loving parents, Marjorie and John. He will also be fondly remembered by Christine and Janet whose friendship and shared family memories remained an important part of his life. Born on January 26, 1941, in Salisbury, United Kingdom, Alistair later immigrated to Canada, where he built a fulfilling and meaningful life. He was a long-standing and proud member of ANAF Unit #344 (Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans) in Guelph, where he found lasting camaraderie and purpose within the community. In addition to his service and community spirit, Alistair played an instrumental role in the early years of the Guelph United Soccer Club, helping to foster a love of the game and a sense of teamwork that continued to shape the club for years to come. His enthusiasm for the sport reflected his lifelong passion for football and the camaraderie it inspired. Alistair had a deep love for fishing, golfing, and cheering on his favourite UK football teams. An avid animal lover, he shared a special connection with all creatures, great and small. Yet, nothing brought him greater joy than time spent with his daughters, grandson, and friends. Alistair’s kind spirit, sharp wit, and warm heart touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his extended family and many dear friends. Private cremation has taken place, entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home – Dublin Chapel.
