PUSLINCH – The community group Help Protect Puslinch invites residents to attend an information open house on Oct. 18 from 11am to 3pm at the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada.
The open house will focus on the importance of responsible growth and sound planning in Puslinch, organizers say.
Learn about Puslinch By Design, the township’s recently completed land-use study, which identified areas best suited to accommodate growth to 2051 and beyond.
The study highlights “the need to respect sound planning principles and focus growth in the right areas,” organizers state in a press release.
Help Protect Puslinch advocates for planning that protects farmland and the environment, preserves the township’s rural character, and ensures that development decisions are guided by community needs.
Representatives will be available to share information, answer questions and provide materials and a petition to review and sign.
“Our concern is not with innovation or growth itself, but with how and where it happens,” said Sandra Pady, founder and board chair of the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada.
“Responsible growth means following sound planning, protecting sensitive lands, and ensuring that development reflects the vision and needs of the community.”
The Donkey Sanctuary is located at 6981 Concession 4, in Puslinch. For more information, visit helpprotectpuslinch.ca or contact David Pady at david@thedonkeysanctuary.ca or 519-836-1697 ext. 111.
