BEILHARTZ, (Alfred) Denton

August 17, 1938 - August 6, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Denton Beilhartz announces his passing, on August 6th, at Wellington Terrace, at the age of 86. Denton was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Kay (nee McPhee) Beilhartz of North Bay. He is missed by his sister Glenda Beilhartz, and his son Richard (Karen) and granddaughters Alexandra (Ellery Shantz), Natalie and Cameron. Survived by great-grandson Sullivan (Sully) Shantz. Denton was a kind and humble man. He retired from LaFarge, in North Bay, after 30+ years of service. He came to live at Wellington Terrace in April 2025, leaving North Bay to be closer to Richard and his family. During his short time in Centre Wellington, Denton enjoyed spending time with Richard and his family, particularly Friday night pizza and Sunday night family dinners. Denton loved getting high fives from Sully and sharing Sully’s budding love of toys with wheels, as well as spending more time with his granddaughters. In his post-retirement years, Denton enjoyed travelling to historic sites all over Ontario and became a self-taught woodworker. He made furniture, doll houses, rocking chairs and benches for his grandchildren. Denton was a natural born storyteller, who authored many short stories, and enjoyed hearing them read to him while at Barclay House and Wellington Terrace. We would like to thank the staff of Barclay House in North Bay, as well as the staff of Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Facility, for their wonderful care, compassion and kindness. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to Wellington Terrace Long Term Care. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
