GUELPH – The Guelph Humane Society’s (GHS) annual Cutest Pet Photo Contest is back and local pets are once again competing for the crown, all in support of animals still waiting for their forever homes.
The fundraiser, which runs until Aug. 29, invites community members to submit photos of their beloved companion animals, dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles and more, for a chance at top prizes and local fame.
While the contest sparks lighthearted competition, it also plays a serious role in raising funds for sheltering, veterinary care, and re-homing services for more than 3,000 animals served by GHS each year, officials say.
“It’s such a fun way to celebrate the pets we love,” said GHS executive director Lisa Veit.

“But what makes it really special is knowing that every vote cast will have a lasting impact by changing a life.”
Votes are cast online through the contest website, with each $1 donation counting as one vote. The pet with the most votes at the end of the contest will win a professional photo session with Craig Robinson Animal Photography, a custom photo book and a framed print featured in the GHS lobby throughout 2026.
Second and third-place finishers will also receive mini photography sessions and framed portraits. Entries cost $20 and include 20 votes.
All proceeds from the contest directly support GHS’s programs.
The contest closes at 11:59pm on Aug. 29. To enter or vote visit gogophotocontest.com/guelphhumanesociety.
