BRUCEDALE – Guelph/Eramosa council has voted unanimously to provide support and supplies to the Eden Mills Writers’ Festival next month.
“Each year the township’s generous contributions … are essential to the festival’s success,” states a letter from festival director Jasper Smith that was considered by council on Aug. 11.
The letter included a list of requests, all of which were granted by council:
- three barriers, at Wellington Road 29 and Barden Street, Wilson Street and 2nd Line, and Wilson Street and York Street;
- “road closed ahead” signs at Guelph Line and Wilson Street, and on Wellington Road 29;
- water coolers and drinking water;
- picnic tables;
- garbage cans, garbage bags and recycling bins; and
- parking vests.
This year’s festival is slated for Sept. 7.
