KENILWORTH – The sliding doors at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex arena entrance will be replaced at a cost of $36,172.
The work will be completed by Golden Triangle Door Automation this fall.
Wellington North council awarded the tender during a regular meeting of council on July 14.
The 2025 budget included $35,000 for the project, with $25,000 funded by the township and $10,000 covered by the County of Wellington’s accessibility fund. Community and economic development manager Mandy Jones said the application for the funding will be submitted in September.
The remaining $1,172 is to be funded by “alternative sources.” Jones said.
Treasurer Jerry Idialu said those sources are township funds and involve adjustments and cost-saving measures to secure.
The township accepted bids for the project between April 24 and June 6, and Golden Triangle Door Automation submitted the lowest of three bids.
The work includes removing and disposing of the existing doors and accessories and suppling and installing two automatic barrier-free sliding doors.
The new glass doors will operate with a bipart sliding door system and motors mounted on the interior side.
The door glider threshold will be replaced and the caulking will be matched as closely to the brick as possible.
