Party in the Park returns to Rockwood

ROCKWOOD – The Township of Guelph/Eramosa has announced the return of its annual summer celebration, Party in the Park, on July 31 from 5 to 10pm at Rockmosa Park (120 Rockmosa Drive, Rockwood).

“This free, all-ages event is made possible through the generous sponsorship of Cory Young Insurance Group/The Co-operators and Tammy Samuels – RE/MAX, whose continued community support helps bring this vibrant gathering to life,” organizers stated in a press release. 

Now in its seventh year, Party in the Park features a range of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

“We’re thrilled to hold the seventh Annual Party in the Park,” stated Mayor Chris White. “It’s a wonderful and free community event with wiener dog races, bouncy castles, live music and so much more.”

Event highlights include: 

  • live music on the main stage (Woody Woodburn & The Embers from 5 to 7pm and The Practically Hip from 7:30 to 9:30pm.
  • children’s entertainment (William the Magician from 6 to 6:30pm, Bubbleology from 6 to 6:45pm and 8 to 8:45pm, Mr. J and the Groovy Gang from 7 to 8pm); 
  • additional activities including face painting, crafts, a petting zoo, train rides, bouncy castles, obstacle courses, mini golf, a play area, touch a truck and access to the splash pad;   
  • Wiener Dog Races, a fan favourite that returns from 5 to 7pm, followed by interactive games and activities led by the Ball Hawks for children and youth.
  • axe throwing (ages 13-plus), carnival games, a community drumming session, informative and interactive displays from Wellington County, fire safety tips from the Guelph/Eramosa Fire Department, a Wellington Source Water Protection water education station; 
  • artisan market with 15 local vendors as well as food trucks and a licensed area featuring local beverage vendors; and 
  • the evening will conclude with a fireworks display at about 9:45pm, weather permitting.
