CLIFFORD – The annual Clifford Connects Carnival Celebration, held July 12, was an unprecedented success, drawing the largest crowd in the event’s history and filling downtown Clifford with vibrant community spirit, organizers state.
Attractions included the popular Demerling’s Garage Auto Show, Magic show with the Great Steverino, face painting, balloons and a vendor market.
Crowd favourites were the Kim’s Dog Grooming Community Dog Show and the captivating Four Paws Flying dog performance.
“What a day, Clifford,” stated Clifford Connects spokesperson Erin Raftis in a press release.
“The energy, the smiles, and the immense community pride were truly palpable.
“We loved every moment of it, and it was incredible to see so many people come out and make this event unforgettable.”
Organizers extended gratitude to volunteers who worked throughout the day, “ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone despite the heat.”
Special appreciation was also given to Town of Minto staff for their behind-the-scenes support, and to the downtown businesses that contributed to the festive atmosphere with sidewalk sales, special offers, and warm hospitality.
The dunk tank saw Perth-Wellington MP John Nater, Minto Mayor Dave Turton, councillors, firefighters, library staff and Clifford Connects members take a splash for charity.
“This kind of event truly doesn’t happen without a village, and Clifford, you absolutely showed up,” Raftis said.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year’s Carnival Celebration our biggest and best yet.”
